Using Relational Ethics to Navigate Suicide Risk in Counselling and Psychotherapy, June 2025
Training for Counsellors
Lancashire
£80.
Using Relational Ethics to Navigate Suicide Risk in Counselling and Psychotherapy.
Overview:
Working with clients at risk of suicide in counselling and psychotherapy can challenge
even the most experienced practitioner. Exploring risks directly with clients draws
deeply on our personal resources and therapeutic skills while, at the same time,
being mindful of our professional, contractual and ethical responsibilities in ensuring
the client’s wellbeing and safety.
This experiential session will explore these issues in more depth, while introducing a
framework for relational ethics that can be used in-session to help structure our
thinking and response. The session will include some formal delivery of content,
group discussion and other experiential exercises. The session will end with a short
panel discussion where raised issues can be explored in more detail.
