Hello and Welcome to Therapists’ Staff Room, our new directory exclusively for mental health professionals to connect, share, and find the resources they need - all under one roof. 

Therapists’ Staff Room brings together 9 categories of resources, services and products specifically curated for the community mental health professionals. From peer connections to practice essentials, you will find what you need here. 

It is exciting to be launching something new here and I wanted to take the opportunity to illuminate what this site is all about. When I first started my private practice I noticed that I was sprawling in all different directions to find what I needed for my work. It was not easy to find my supervisor, cpd or my peers! It was hard work and when I spoke to my colleagues about it, I noticed I wasn’t the only one. There was a search - a hunger, dare I say - for reading and peer supervision groups. There was the lack of a central directory for our room rentals, cpd, books, insurances and therapy training. All this left me wondering why we don’t have our own space, when we are so darned determined to make sure we create this for our clients/patients. Though don’t get me wrong, a digital platform is not something I imagine to be sufficient when I visualise a central space for all mental health professionals, but it’s definitely a start.  So this is designed to be a space where we can find what we need and make the connections we’ve been looking for.

What can you find here?

There are 9 categories of services and products we may need, or want to have, for our work and our own wellbeing. This includes a category called therapists’ therapist where you may advertise your counselling and psychotherapy services for other professionals. Though this is not to be mistaken for somewhere where our clients/patients expect to find us - there are plenty of spaces for them to discover our services elsewhere. This site is just for the mental health professionals. With that in mind, we aim to keep our costs low and we are very economical in comparison to other limited places where you can list your service or product. My due diligence on industry publications tells me that any advert, such as a supervisor or a cpd course in a quarter-page printed ad costs over a thousand pounds! So to enable Therapists’ Staff Room to be curated for therapists, by therapists and for you to affordably share your services with your colleagues, we’re looking at a cost contribution around 2% of that. 

In addition to our Community Directory where you can hopefully find everything you need, we also have Staff Room Chat, our blog feature that you are reading now.  Content will build up as we encourage guest writers with insightful stories and topical information to share.  It is where we hope to spark your curiosity or find food for thought, maybe even nourish the mind after a long day of holding space for your clients/patients.  If this is something you would like to get involved with, get in contact now!
